    Thanks for taking the time out to write and express your enjoyment on the hebraic rendition of the 'Didache'.  As for your question relating to the "parenthesis", in truth, I'm not entirely certain... that is to say, that it originates as a reflection of the original format from which it was copied.


    I believe, however, that it would seem to indicate that the words found within the brackets are emendations of the original quotes... in other words, edited verses where maybe certain words or individual letters were missing from the source document.  That's the best I can do to explain that, Lloyd.  I hope that it helps to explain what might otherwise be a curious if not confusing point- which you aptly noticed.  Thanks again for commenting.

    I ran across your hebrew translation of the Didache.  I enjoyed this but I am wondering why you put the baptisimal reference to father, son and holy spirit in parenthesis.  Lloyd
